FAQ'S

· When should I arrive at the school?

Courses start every Monday morning so you must go to ATLAS SCHOOL on Monday at about 9:00 am.

· How can I get to Granada?

There are several possibilities. Granada has an international airport only 15 km from the city, connected by a scheduled bus. You can also take a taxi or rent a car at the airport. Another easy choice is to arrive at Malaga Airport and take a coach to Granada. The schedule is regular and the journey lasts only 1h30 min. If you arrive at Madrid-Barajas airport, you also have at your disposal a schedule of frequent coaches from Mendez Alvaro Bus Station (Estación Sur). Once you’ve arrived in Granada, the urban bus takes you from the station to the city centre, beside the school, with number 3 (or 33). There are many taxis waiting outside the bus station as well. If you arrive by train, the train station is more or less centrally situated. Visit our  useful links for further information.

· If I arrive by car, where can I park it?

Although it is not the best choice to come to Granada because of traffic problems, you can find two public car parks next to the school and very easy to get to since ATLAS SCHOOL has easy access from the road: Salida 131: Palacio de Congresos.

· What’s the weather like in Granada?

We could dare to say that Granada enjoys 300 sunny days a year! Nevertheless there is great difference of temperature between day and night. Winter temperature ranges from 5 to 15 Celsius and in summer it can reach 35 during the day, but nights are usually fresher!  Visit the tourism link and you can get further information about weather.

· When should I pay for the course?

At the moment of enrolment you must pay a part of the total price of the course as a reservation fee. This payment should be made 2 weeks before the beginning of your course at the latest. The rest of the total price can be paid at the school during the first week of the course. If you cancel the course before coming for any reason unconnected with ATLAS SCHOOL the reservation amount will not be refunded to you.

· Which language should I use to contact you?

English and French are spoken at ATLAS SCHOOL so – apart from Spanish, of course! – you can use either of these languages.

· What if I happen to enrol past the deadline?

In this case your admission to a certain course will depend on availability. The best thing is to contact us and we’ll let you know if there is a vacancy. If there is one, there will not be any problem for you to join a course once you pay the reservation fee.

· Can I change from the class level in which I’ve been placed?

Although the placement test is usually effective in most cases, if you don’t feel comfortable in your class and teachers consider it appropriate, you will be immediately changed to another level or class: the most important thing is that you learn whilst feeling at ease!

· Is there maximum age to enrol?

The minimum age for participation on an ordinary course is 18 years old, although we can organize specific courses or lessons for groups under 18 if they are accompanied by adults. Of course, there is NO maximum age to participate on a course: it is NEVER TOO LATE to learn Spanish!

· Is attendance at class compulsory?

Although the student can feel free not to turn up, he/she will profit from his/her course and his/her stay by coming to class regularly. On the other hand, to have the right to do the final exam and receive the Attendance Certificate, you cannot miss more the 10% of the total lessons of your course.

· Is Granada an expensive city?

NO. Sometimes it depends on your country of origin, but as a general rule we can assure that Granada is one of the cheapest cities in Spain.

· What are “las tapas”?

A “tapa” is an appetizer. A small – or not so small! – piece of food served together with a drink. What is characteristic of Granada is that “tapas” are free! Yes, when you order a glass of beer or wine or any other drink, you will also be served a little piece of sandwich, baked potato, fish, steak... What is more, every time you order a new drink you get a different dish! Average price of a drink plus a “tapa” is 1.50 euros. This is one more reason why Granada attracts so many people!
