At ATLAS we adapt ourselves to the specific needs of our students, that is why lessons are tailor-made. We offer a large flexibility in lessons' times, contents and methodology to satisfy every student's requirement of our Private (one-to-one) and Semi-Private (two-to-one) lessons. Every lesson lasts 60 minutes, but you can choose the number of hours a day (or a week) that you would like to attend and on which day(s) of the week. ATLAS SCHOOL is open Monday to Friday from 9:30 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:30. This way, you can have extensive free access for use of the Internet or other resources offered by the school (books, newspapers, games etc). And you can always count on the support and advice of the teachers who are here to help you. Our courses are based on the communicative approach; we work on all skills to achieve the main objective: communication. You learn not only the rules of grammar but also the necessary rules to use the language appropriately in very different situations and social circumstances. Everything is done in an amusing way to practise Spanish in a natural environment. Group classes (Intensive and Semi-Intensive courses) have a maximum of only 8 students. They take place from Monday to Friday in the morning (9:30-13:30), with a break in between. A teaching hour consists of 50 minutes and courses are taught entirely in Spanish so that you can be involved in the language and the culture from the very beginning, even if you are a beginner. Being in a small group helps everybody to participate and everyone feels comfortable and confident, something that is very important when speaking a foreign language. The lessons are entertaining, but at the same time follow a rigorous programme of study, whose final aim is to achieve the linguistic objectives established for each level. Therefore, we count on the traditional means as well as audiovisual means such as TV, CD, and DVD to complete the materials for a language course. Additionally, we include lessons such as “Internet in the classroom”: this way you can use the Web not only as a means of communication and source of information but also for didactic means.
PRIVATE: designed to be adapted to the specific requirements of one student. You are the one who decides the number of hours as well as the content of your course. This course is the ideal option if you have little time and want to achieve a specific objective. The teacher will adapt the lesson to your linguistic requirements all the time and we have plenty of experience and good results in achieving such objectives.
SEMI-PRIVATE: designed to adapt to the special requirements of two students. As well as with the Private lesson, both together you decide the number of hours as well as the content of your course. This course is the ideal option if you have little time and want to achieve a specific objective.
INTENSIVE (20 hours/week *): Monday-Friday, 9:30 to 13:30. The course consists of a first part where we focus on grammar structures and their communicative functions, and a second part (after the break: 11:15-11:45) where we put into practice all we have learnt. Emphasis is placed on the practice of real life situations, as well as supervised written work.
SEMI-INTENSIVE (10 hours/week *): Monday-Friday, 2 hours/day
CIVILIZATION and CULTURE (5 hours/week *): Monday-Friday, 13:30 to 14:30. Whichever course you’re interested in, this is the perfect complement to understanding the language in its socio-cultural context. This 5 hours/week course can only be attended together with a Private, Semi-Private, Intensive or Semi-Intensive course. This is an enjoyable course on a variety of topics: history, art, literature, sports, gastronomy, music, geography, cinema...
* 1 teaching hour = 50 minutes
When finishing your course, and provided you attended at least 90% of the lessons, you will be awarded an Attendance Certificate stating:
Likewise, if you wish to, you can also do a final exam corresponding to your level. This is a way to self-assess, and the result of such an exam will also appear on your certificate.
